Magnetospeed bayonet....

Does anybody have any idea of the life expectancy of the Magnetospeed bayonet? I would think that all that muzzle blast(pressure,powder particles,etc) would be very abrasive.

Probably a lot longer than the Land Rover or BMW motorcycle that us users are supposed to be driving.

I got one when the first came out and it still works. I don't use a brake and I use heavy tape over the areas that get the blast and replace it periodically but still working fine.

It is a couple of year old at least

Most my rifles have brakes, no problems in about 3 years.

My bayonet apparently threw in the towel recently, giving me Bayo error codes. I sent the whole rig back to Magnetospeed and they fixed me right up with a new one, no charge. Customer Service is tops at Magnetospeed!

The new ones come with a SS blast shield on them and I noticed on their web site that they sell the little SS shield by itself, it wasn't much if I remember correctly.

I don't know, but the finish on my V2 started to wear almost immediately.

I had similar problems about a year ago, and they replaced everything with a new Ballistic V3 unit...no charge. I've had one kind or another of their units almost since they came out a few years ago, and they've been great folks to deal with.

I do use the "blast shield" that comes with the unit.
