Yes on .243 If you go to Rock Island Arsenal there is one in the Museum , and many other one of a type Weapons .

Yes they will kill cheap scopes. Good scopes do hold up. At least in my experience.

I run a Nikon M308 on my M1A, which is supposed to be designed to withstand the abuse of a semi-auto .308. After about 500 rounds the reticle came loose and started rotating inside the tube. They sent me a new one and all has been fine since.

I think since the HK has the roller blow system so it dampens the bolt return a little. Don’t quote me on that, not entirely sure.

LOL Not a fan of the M1A platform for a scoped rifle. I have an AR Creedmoor for my semi. Shoots great too!

yes one big minus to me of the garand and M1A is scope mounting. I havent tried ar10 type platform yet but mabie its in my future.
