Just threw away the worst bullet/ company experience i have ever had, worst of the worst. Gave them every chance to at least be honest about the design short comings and problems in matches. We did a thorough investigation and know what we discovered to be true and accurate.
They prey on the uninformed pedestrian grade consumer type shooter. way out of their league in the full on match environment.
In the garbage where they belong, the bullets and the company.
Sad but true.

I would love to hear as well. I am just getting into shooting and tend to listen to forum advice (when sound) over marketing, which is Hornady's bread and butter. I only have their SST and V-Max which I've yet to test. I can say that for the price, their brass has been real good to me, especially compared to Winchester. I want to try their eld-x but I don't know enough to go for it when I'm still load developing for VLDs and Matchking.

I shoot their Vmax and SSTs but generally speaking, I liken them to the Mickey D's of component companies. :p

@270WinDude, I find a lot of Hornady .223 brass on the ground at gun clubs. It's pretty much the bottom of the barrel, accuracy wise so it goes in the scrap bucket, $1.75 a pound lately. :(:p:D

Can we tie the Creedmoor in to this thread.

Which Bullets and what kind of problems? In 7mm, they can blow up for all the same reasons other bullets may, although with a lower tolerance than other match bullets. But assuming you stay within their envelope, they are a really accurate.

If the A-Max was such a bad design, why are you still able to buy them at quite a few places?

That makes sense. Since I just started and haven't done too much testing, as it stands now I use Hornady brass for load development and have some Norma brass that I'll probably use for my final loads.

So what’s the problem with them?

Enlighten the people who don’t know please.

I was shooting bug holes with a 6 Dasher yesterday with 105 A max, three groove, 3 R barrel from X caliber. Groups were tiny.

I think that production quality is limited to the people that are sitting up the machines. Get some fool that does not know how to set up a core punch and a lot of bullets will be junk.

Just my opinion that Area51's statement is just too broad, and most of us would like to know the particulars.
