Springfield Armory may sell a ton of the Creed chambered rifles.
History states that they need to keep building the 7.62's as all other chamberings to date have been a rework/re-barrel night mare.

OP/hoz53-
If you are seriously contemplating an OP Rod Platform you may want to purchase a 1/2 dozen of their WELDED op rods to keep you up and running for a week or so.
Out of the box(if/when) it functions, it may be a solid 3-4 MOA shooter.

A Gas Impingement or Piston platform would be your best bet.

LOL-- i have long felt the OP rod system was a poor way to go. I have a couple garands if i want to play with one of them for a little fun. i have also long felt that of the 308 battle rifles the M14 was probably the poorest design. So i dont have or wont be getting an M1A anytime soon. I feel of the 308 battle rifles the G3 is my favorite and so I have a semiauto clone of one of them I use for that sort of work. I imagine there will be a few here who may feel a little differently about the M-14:D

You are correct, in your last sentence

I have shot many tens of thousands of rounds thru an m1a/m14 and the only failure was a bolt roller on a springfield commercial bolt. Every time i go shoot no matter where or what i take some variety of them with me whether its a regular stock or ebr model. Im a huge fan but only the 308 for me
