I don't doubt your experience but there are plenty of CZs more accurate than plenty of MPRs.
Many posters disputed this statement. Sorry I had lost track of this thread.
In general terms, here is why there are plenty of CZs more accurate than plenty of MPRs. I have 2 CZs and about 10 Anschutz rifles so my loyalty is evident.
To compare Anschutz to CZ in the manner most attempt, one must presume all Anschutzs (of the model being compared) shoot the same. Conversely, one must also presume all CZs (of the model being compared) shoot the same. We know this is not true.
Each rifle model line generates a bell curve regarding accuracy dispersion. Simply put, some are more accurate than others within the same model line. These bell curves overlap in a way that, for example, more accurate CZs will shoot better than less accurate Anschutzs. Let's face it, some Anschutzs are returned or get re-barreled for accuracy problems, so all is not roses with the brand, as with any brand.
If someone thinks the bell curves do not overlap, they are mistaken. Personally, My CZ 452 Lux will out-shoot my 1416 Anschutz. I have a friend that has two CZs that will give the Match 54 rifles a run for their money. I just love it when I shoot well with a 9 pound Anschutz, and he hands me, with a smile, a 6 pound CZ that does as well or better. Ironically, if I remember correctly, one of his exceptionally accurate 452 CZs is a full stock model, about 5 pounds.
We didn't measure differences, so (for several reasons) I generalize and am making a point. No one has the time or resources to quantify any of this (the area under and shape of the bell-curves). I've not had an MPR, simply because in that weight class I want a 54. I had a 64MS, similar to an MPR, that was nothing to write home about. My 452 LUX was more accurate. I have another 64MS that is fine.
IMO, this is because no-one has figured out a way to make barrels perform the same. A barrel, the most important variable, is a very dynamic variable, unlike a trigger, a bolt, or an action...Tom
