Triggertech Diamond Trigger: Opinions

I am looking at the new Triggertech Diamond Remington 700 drop in trigger. It is new and is adjustable from 4oz to 32oz. It appears to be a very good trigger and according to PRS a lot of competition shooters are switching to this new trigger.

Has anyone got any first hand experience with this trigger? What is your opinion and would you recommend it?

Also, and I know that this is going to result in some comments, but the trigger does not come with the bolt release. If I install this trigger, how do you release the bolt? Is there a modification that I have to make in order to remove the bolt without this release?

Thanks in advance for you comments and guidance.

Me too Papa Charlie. A lot of the high-end custom actions — the kind that I don’t have yet — come with a bolt release on the action, so a lot of the high-end triggers come without that. My TriggerTech Diamond is biding it’s time, waiting for some action, ;)

The trigger tech triggers are damned nice, and some could argue more durable/reliable than a Jewel. I’m using them on most hunting rifles instead of Timney anymore.

At 289.00 plus 2months wait vs 204.00 delivered for a Jewell w/safety thats available today, I must be missing something or some people just have to much money. LDS
The TriggerTech Diamond has a safety. It just doesn’t have a bolt release.

I contacted Triggertech and the Diamond is designed for Rem 700 custom actions and won't work on Rem 700 factory actions. They indicated that there was some binding when use with the factory actions.

Looks like I will have to go with the Jewel. Not that it is a bad choice.

Thanks very much for the information.

I've installed a Jewell on a Remington 700 5R 300 Winchester magnum and never fired it so I traded it at the LGS and he said the guy that bought it took it out to the range and came back and said it would really shoot! Maybe I should have kept it, oh well. My Bighorn SL3 arrived in town today and I'll go pick it up tomorrow and start to put it together with my Triggertech Special trigger and install it in the stock and go see about what it will do. The Triggertech trigger feels really nice and is sealed against the elements somewhat, unlike a Jewell or the others if that matters considering the environment it will be exposed to. The Texas Hill Country says that's a good thing with all the limestone dust in the air - gravel roads and quarries - ugh!

Just like my JT04/Top right safety, no bolt release for $204.00 delivered. In Stock, and it fits all 700s and any clone of the 700.
I shot PDs twice a yr for 10 yrs, never flushed a trigger out, and
never had a problem. I used the same triggers on several different rifles over that time span, and at times its plenty dusty.

I have the special . I couldn't imagine it being much better . These aren't like the other knock off triggers of resent . I have one in my Curtis axiom with the straight trigger . Its a 1lb lowest setting ,but feels much lower .
