Maybe build decks and gazebo's for people. License and insurance would be cheaper.

The Gun side was all for Fun . I could not support a large Dog on that money .
I was a Mechanical Maintenace Supervisors.
I found good jobs in my areas working for Park District and Health Clubs .
I received a wage . I was not buying Insurance etc. to support a retirement hobby .

Your years in the work force are worth more than you may think .
Trades people are in high demand.
Doing Quality Work may prove to be more than you are looking for .
For me I need to have the Fun Factor in what I choose to do .
Best of Luck

ITAR is about manufacturing OR export. There are some exemptions that have been carved out for small operators (basically gunsmiths) who do not export, but it's pretty clear and very broad.
has ITAR changed at all under the Trump administration?

Retirement isn't for everyone. The sad truth is if you didn't have a hobby or past time BEFORE you retired, it's unlikely you'll have one after and you'll wind up frustrated and looking to find another job or wishing you kept working. Have seen this scenario many times.
Mindset or needed activity levels play just as hard. Some can't seem to sit still, way harder on that type. I have a slightly older friend, whines that he's became lazy, well, you didn't need to start dining for lunch at the old fudds home at 60 either. I'm 60 and run with guys under 40, can't keep up but I'm there, lol

When you retire, according to everyone else that's not retired, you have loads of time on your hands, are not doing anything and are basically just idle and watching TV all day therefore it's accepted you are an easy mark for "can you.......??? If you have a good handle on the word NO, you're in good shape. If not, you're toast.
