M1A in 6.5 Creedmoor

Has anyone shot an M1A in 6.5 Creedmoor in a match? I am wondering about expected groups sizes, jamming and other performance parameters. I know Springfield makes a competition M1A in 308, and there are considerations to the care and operation of an M1A.

Under current high power rules it would not be legal as a service rifle since it is not in .308 caliber. Would have to shoot as a match rifle.

IMHO, a marketing concept or an answer to a non existent problem.

However, if my worn memory serves me right, years ago a well know shooter placed high or won one of the matches at Perry with either a Garand or M1-A in .243 shooting as a match rifle. Think it was Carl Bernoski who could beat most of us using a Daisy Red Ryder, with or without the compass.

The new M1A does not seem to stir interest yet. Springfield must be disappointed in the lack of interest. The PRS shooters I know have not heard of the new M1A in 6.5 Creedmoor. Any semi-auto is not taken very seriously by that group.
