So someone posted a mini lathe in a recent thread and then my "friend" @Dos XX just has to come along and post one from Grizzly Industrial. I have a bunch of Griz stuff in my shop already so one thing led to another and I now have a Griz G8688 lathe in the gun room. I had a coupon for a Harbor Freight 4 drawer tool cart so I picked one up and adapted it as a lathe stand. Just got it put together tonight but I think I'm gonna like it.

I have the 21st Century neck lathe so I'll probably continue to use that for necks. I was considering buying a Giraud powered trimmer but decided to spend the money on the lathe and use it to spin the trimmers I currently have. I plan to turn a bullet comparator base for the stand I have ordered and whatever else I can figure out. I really don't know how many true firearm applications the mini lathe will have but I've always wanted one. Seemed like a lot more possibilities for the same money as a dedicated power trimmer.
