Where do I even start ?Hoping a

Fine tuning a Savage (or an R700, I have several) makes sense, probably all here have done it. But sorting 223 cases, for PD shooting? The OP is just starting out. I've been reloading for 30 years, and still don't sort cases, but not unlike the OP I don't shoot formal BR or any other competition. Few if any shooters can point to a spoiled group and say knowingly "Darn, should have sorted those cases!" or "So that's where that misplaced cull went to!" It's one thing to say you sort them for peace of mind, but quite another to claim demonstrable improvement in a 223 factory rifle.

Hornady makes a great 53gr VMAX that has a higher ballistic coefficient ( .290 ) then some 60+ grainers . I shoot those cheap caldwell 4" gongs at 375yds easily with those . They scream at 3330fps from my 20inch Howa varmint using h335 .

doing the same thing over and over for 30 years, proves nothing. repetition.
people not willing to learn, simply do the same thing over and over.
people satisfied with 1 moa do not interest me.
there are "reloaders" and there are "ammo crafters". i am the second.
i was in the brass business for 12 years. i have sorted, weighed,, and volume checked 5.56/223 brass.
if you cannot see the difference, it simply shows your lack of load development skill, poor shooting skills or poor equipment.
i have an ar15 that shoots 50 gr zmax(vmax) at 0.2 at 100 yds with sorted commercial american cases.

You should enter that rig into a br match. Itll win most matches

it was built for br..but i cannot load and shoot singles in the time frame,
hand cycling the bolt moves the gun too much, and ya know they do not like semi auto.
my ar10 actually shoot better same issues time and movement.

No one says you can't fill the mag and all you need is a brass catcher. I believe they may have added a class for ARs, nobody really shooting it so it is a winner every time.

Hey hey leave those Savages alone. That is all I shoot, and can usually get them down to 0.2-0.25, of course they aint factory either.
Best I ever got with a factory gun was 0.30 but it was all components put together not right out of Westfield.

no, br requires single loading.
the ar class is gone, gone because it was designed to fail. i was there from conception.

dusty,
i was trying to be rule compliant. i have the accuracy, not the speed.
i now have a local club so i may take both out.
one thing at a time work on getting ready for the 1000 yd nationals.
any match i've been to would welcome an ar shooter to enter as long as theres no muzzle brake. they usually leave around noon right after those 1/8" savages

maybe...hoping for some pd shooting between the nationals and the 2000 yd group/score match.
i shoot a 300 win mag and a 6dasher for 600/1000.
do you remember the brand new 105's you sold me in a baggie ? the 600 yard national win in 2015 ?
You gonna take that AR to the 1000yd nats?
