Work on Rem 700 triggers

Both the Model 7's I have have had their triggers fiddled with. The 6mm Rem was a novice job by the previous owner but the 223 was done by a competent smith here in NZ. They're both well under 3lbs.
The 223 trigger is a joy and I've shown it to many guests as how a good trigger should be.
Zero creep or over-travel and breaks like glass @ 2 1/4 lb. :)

Keep us informed. Some actions are tighter than others. Make sure the trigger slips in without force
Seemed like it did. Just needed to drill out the pin holes a bit from the cerakote. All went well after that. I'll pull it out later and make sure I check tolerances. Putting a Shilen trigger in it later on today. May try the Remington trigger in a non cerakoted action.

I do my own, and 2-21/4 LB safely is the norm. I've yet to attempt to hone or respring one though. There's two members here that tune them for near half that price. As a matter of fact one of them has a few listed right now already tuned for that price.

Really where at ?

I mailed him to triggers today. I'll let y'all know how they turn out when they get back. I've had a couple of people pm me And tell me how good of work he does and I wouldn't be unsatisfied .

These 2 700s have the Walker trigger adjusted at 19 and 20oz, very easy to adjust.

The trigger on the Remington 700 trigger is wider than what I like so he's going to make it smaller like a jewel style trigger.

Oh,
I was confused because you talked about a trigger shoe being on the trigger. I assumed that you wanted the thickness to be thicker than the trigger, yet thinner than with a trigger shoe on it. Is this on an old style Remington, or the new X Mark Pro whatever triggers. My Coopers seem to be wide like the old Remington triggers, and that drives me crazy. I much prefer the trigger thickness of the X Mark Pro, but not the trigger mechanism.

I got the triggers back yesterday installed one in a 308. Took it the range today and ran 20 rounds through it to see how it function. Brakes crisply at 1-1/2 lb. mr. Neal Jones knows his stuff he does good work would definitely use them again. And it only took 2-1/2 weeks to get them backEffect_20180419_184255.jpg

That’s myself and my brother. We only tune older walker triggers. Stoned and new spring, no creep or over travel. Tuned and return shipping for $45 a trigger. 1 week turn around time.
