Of course you can back-check the decimal equivelints of fractions by dividing the lower number into the top number on any calculator.
Epoxy is plenty strong, you don't even need pins if you have holes drilled in the tang so the epoxy bonds the 3 pieces .Prep is key .
Wrong, you need to do some research. I have made/sold many knives, some featured in magazines .I know a little about the process, many ways to skin a cat. Most definitely not true unless you plan on it sitting on a shelf to stare at. On a full tang knife. The epoxy is more a sealer between tang and scales as is for securing. You even pin hidden tangs!
Congrats to you. I make knives to use and to use hard when needed. NEVER EVER would I not pin a knife handle I am seriously relying on!! Nor any handle at that!! You are showing a hidden tang with no pins. Great for cutting chicken in the kitchen. Do the same in the woods chopping batoning wood. Bet you ANY amount of $ it fails!! I've destroyed MANY knives Just to see their failure points. Epoxy is very strong. One thing it does not have is SHEAR strength which is why pins are critical on a full tang knife intended for use.No pins...
