Anyone Have a PPC or Similar Built on a Nesika Bay Action?

Just wondering whether the Nesika Bay action is a good alternative for a 6 or .22 PPC build. It looks like a nicely-made action and is fairly light, which for me would be an advantage, and it will take a Jewell trigger easily.

I'm thinking of some bench use, but also varmint applications.

Has anyone here built such a rifle around a Nesika Bay action?

I have had a couple BR rifles built on the Nesika J actions there were no problems and both actions head
spaced the same. These were the early actions built in Washington. I have seen problems with the later actions once Dakota Arms took over

I have a 30BR built on a Nesika J action,no problems,it shoots lights out. Catman

I have a couple J's I use for F Class. I like them a lot, but Nesika is owned by the group that owns Remington. They have been very difficult to contact and get parts from for quite a while. Personally at this time I would consider another brand. Borden and Bat both have some nice small actions.

I have a Borden TPE action that has an "N" on the bolt shroud. Love it.

While we at talking about Nesika Actions, do you of you know or have any experience with the Nesika Model T actions? I bought one off the Internet and I'm getting ready to build a 6X47L on it. Thanks very much for any help..

I had a Nesika model "C" years ago with a 6PPC barrel. It was a great action and an accurate shooting rifle!

I currently have seven Nesika actions. 4 Js and 3 Ks. Never an issue with any, and coupled with uber reliability and accuracy -- all are pretty smooth operators. My oldest one is from year 2000. If you bought a Nesika that was made up to year 2005, you are good to go. Those made after that year are the ones that folks throw a gray cloud over. I don't know; but there was a myriad of staffing and company turmoil going on in and around year 2005; and the focus from Nesika seems to have all but evaporated. Pitty! Very, very, very high quality actions and the rascals are TOUGHER than nails. I shoot 6BR through 284 Win with these. The bolt handle and body are manufactured from one piece of steel. I also have BAT SV and B actions, and one Stolle Grizzly II. If you build a rifle on a Nesika action, including the Borden/Nesika TPE action -- a simple clone of the Nesika J action -- you will be very well pleased. I would buy another one at most any time. If you buy one, perhaps you should order a firing pin spring from Jim Borden and a bolt disassembly tool. BTW -- Nesika made a few complete rifles as well, with phenolic resin stocks. I doubt you could find a rifle today with a better bedding job. Good luck with your project. I hope you find some of this helpful. Do you have any idea of the SN# range those 05's fall in to. I have a pair of Dakota built J's in the mid 800 range and have no idea when they were built.

The dakotas were later. Look for poulsbo, wa on the early ones.

I don't know the serial number range. The first two years of receivers marked Sturgis, SD are good to go, because most of the original Nesika team were still making the actions. Folks are incorrect when they state the ones made in Sturgis are not as good. It depends on when they were made in Sturgis. Through 2004, and up to 2005 the product should be solid.

My Nesika J is a switch barrrel, 6ppc/30BR. I luv it.
