I’m sure I’m not the first one to do this. While getting setup to cut a longer throat in a newly chambered rsaum today, I thought there has to be a better way than that skinny wobbly sleeve to keep everything aligned. Measured the diameter of the uni throater shaft, went up a few thou in a drill bit, used the primer pocket as a pilot and drilled all the way thru the neck on a sized case. Had to finagle the neck a bit with sizing, expanding and using the throater to open it up, finished it with some rolled up sand paper.
Worked better and more precise cuts, plus when you insert the case first there is very little risk of longitudinal cut marks from the throater insertion.
