Too simple

Actually the gun control thing started in the early 60's, "Eric" was a Jonny Come Lately to that party. Personally I think these mentally unstable people are "cultivated" into doing these mass shootings. One thing I have noticed is that the mass shooting take place in more up scale areas as opposed to the inner city schools. Doesn't seem logical that inner city schools don't have any mentally unstable students.

In 1837, Georgia passed a law banning handguns. It appears to be the earliest known case of gun control, and was ruled unconstitutional by the SCOTUS, and was thrown out.

No unstable students there is right but they have really good Drama and acting classes and students there.

Times have changed. I just pulled a "Sears, Roebuck and Co." FALL 1900 edition, catalog number 110, from my bookcase. There is 14 pages of mail order firearms and ammo listed:D The Winchester model 1873 sold for $12.52:cool:

kids grow up these days surrounded by violence. movies and violent video game. they have killed millions by the time they are 18. it desensitizes them to killing.

i grew up with Andy of Mayberry and Bonanza. Started hunting with my father at 8 or 9 years old. Trained what a shotgun would do. Saw what the finality of death looked like. No replays there.

it is a Society problem. the video games, the life experiences, the way we handle the mentally ill. Not sure there is an answer but getting rid of the guns is just an easy scapegoat to redirect the attention away from the real problems.

Take your point, I was referring to federal gun control in the form of removing all guns from our society.

It is about making criminals out of people who exercise the right (God given and affirmed in the Constitution) to bear arms. So ya, criminals will have guns, cause it will be criminal to have guns. never thought of myself that way before...
There's been a bumper sticker around for a long time : 'When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns'.

One should ponder ALL possible meanings of that sentence.

And Wyatt Earp told the Cowboys they couldn't carry guns in the town of Tombstone. Might makes right, I guess.

I agree 100%. When impressionable people (of any age) watch TV or movies, they think that is real life. Life seemed so much more simple in the 50's and early 60's. I still watch Andy, MASH, Hogan's Heroes, and many of the earlier westerns. I grew up on those. Even at my age, I get wound up a little watching a violent show thinking what I would do in that scenario. A lot of shows have hidden agendas for example cop shows showing kicking in doors at will or roughing up anyone they want. People start to believe that is reality. Sorry, it isn't or shouldn't be!

But he didn't try to stop the Doc from doing it and Doc was no angel

See, if you're a connected huckleberry, you can do whatever....;)

My point is "gun control" has been around forever and it has never once turned the world into a safe place. In fact, quite the opposite. But Chucky has em all convinced it will be all unicorns farting rainbows if we pass mag bans. He's an Idiot.

“They” have an agenda. Decade by decade attitudes towards firearms has deteriorated. I still believe the majority of America are conservative. It’s time to be more active, more vocal. Vote, in the booth, with your wallet, let your opinion be known. You don’t have to be rude but you don’t have to be silent either.

Tomorrow I am emailing all the ones that backed out of NRA support and telling them they lost my business. In fact, today, OT, I saw an ad from Rumpl, a maker of great blankets, featuring various "heroic" women. One was heroic for being a surfer, another for climbing Everest, etc etc. Daring? Dedicated? Incredible? Yes to all. Heroic? Heck no! Heroic is laying down your life for a brother. So I wrote to them. Had a reply in 10 minutes. Sure Rumpl explained what they were doing, celebrating women. Fine. But I made my point and they registered it.
And i an't buying another one till they wrap a soldier in one of them fancy blankets. That is heroic.

Baby boomers too "busy" to raise their kids, let public school do it.You reap what you sew.......whole generation of kids that can't change a flat tire?Bigger problems for them in the future than firearms legislation. And way bigger problems for guvment if they go much further infringing on the 2nd.Look at Baltimore.....perfect example of failed firearms/public safety policies. And right up the rd from D.C. so it ain't like the elite have to go very far to see for themselves.

You used LOGIC to come to this conclusion.
Emotion and "feelings" trump LOGIC in the liberal world.

Some very powerful Liberals (even the damn word “liberal” is a paradox) are willing to spend some of there own money in fighting for gun control...tyranny is what they want. The true underpinnings of gun control are socialistic and communist. This faction of people, some of whom are very influential, almost, untouchable it seems...uses emotions of confused citizens reacting to school shootings.

Agreed as to “cultivated”.
