H414 has worked well for me in the 20 Grendel — http://shootersnotes.com/articles/20-grendel/
The cartridge is also between the case capacity of the BR & the PPC.
I kept the pressures down around an estimated 50 ksi to keep AR bolts more comfortable.
I got a nice flat velocity trend of about 3080 fps woth loads between 28.8 and 29.2 gr H414 in a 20 inch barrel.
Other powders moght work better but I was OK with these results.
I bet RL17 will make it sing.
accurate 2520 is a good powder to use in the 20 PPC and RL15 is a great option for the 20BR with 55 grain bullets. If you test with those 2 powders i am sure you will find something that works for you.
Tommy,That’s surprising. I would have thought those powders would be too fast burning with the 55’s.
Tommy,
Just an FYI . Use the 1-8 barrel twist rate with your 20 BR and 20 PPC barrels due to the extra velocity. For the .204 Ruger and the like the 1-7 barrel twist rate should be used.
This is what I did with my 20-250 build for shooting the 55's but I hear of many that get by fine with 1-9's shooting the 55's too.
I may regret it but enough people advised me that 1-9” will work fine and that’s what I’m going with.
