I bet the 223 Ackley will give the same performance as the Valkyrie at NATO pressures.
Being a fan of the stories from Norse mythology I really like the name. Makes me think of scantily clad blonds with swords for some reason.

Van Horn was gunsmith Gil Van Horn's last name. Sometimes a little insight helps it all make sense..
Regarding the Valkyrie name---seems it was used in Precision Shooting many years ago(early 90's??), in naming another 223 cartridge, shooting mostly the lighter bullets. I am thinking the writer was from Idaho and may even frequent this forum, from time to time.
So, this 'new designation', may not be so new.
Anyone recall this. I will need to dig up my PS magazines and check.
