I've gotten along this far without one (or five) of them. Of course I do have SKS's which are actually made out of wood and steel. And they will shoot 3MOA ---- ALL DAY LONG!!! jd

Obvious answer is obvious. ARs and SKS and bolts. But that's getting back to the opposite of the thread theme.

I would have a custom BR rifle with a 308 bolt face and multiple barrels. There is always an angle.

Right now, and as an overall survival gun, the AR platform. About a zillion spare parts all over the world. AK's too for that matter. For hunting...bolt with something fast.

If forced to only have one rifle, I'd go with my .280 Rem. It's on a Mark X commercial Mauser action, with a 24" E.R. Shaw barrel, Bell and Carlson stock and 3x9 Burris scope.

A nice and heavy (15 to 20 + pounds) Martini chambered in my 20 MGM Wildcat with a "reliable" extractor set up. Never know how it will shoot till you try it.
