Many of the barrel makers will copy an existing contour at little to no charge. Pick the maker that suits your fancy, dial the phone and ask questions.

Send it to Ruger, if the threads gaul and lock up, it is on them.

i asked savage and they told me they wouldnt sell me a barrel Mabie ruger will i have not checked.
I took the question to mean he would like a custom blank. Why would anyone want a factory tube for a replacement? Heck, check with Stan Taylor, he works for Douglas Barrels, he might be able to help. I've never had problems re-barreling 77s or 77MK2. They make good enough hunting rifles. The OP is looking for a sporter contour blank.

Ruger's replacement barrels are around $270 for Stainless last time I checked. Neighbor's gunsmith tried to unscrew the barrel off of a Ruger Stainless action with factory installed Stainless barrel, barrel gauled the action's threads, gun was toast. Stainless on stainless issue, and Ruger has no warranty for this kind of situation as they never intend for their barrels to be taken off. If this happens on a Stainless action at Ruger, they just replace the whole gun, and they only agree to accept currently manufactured actions to be rebarreled for this very reason.

No where in tonybs' post do I see where he says its a stainless action. All I have de-barreled have been the common loose fit that factory barrels seem to always show. CM or stainless, not a big problem for a gunsmith.
"Pre-fits" for the Model 77 do not exist.
