22-243ai seating die?

Would a 243ai Redding competition seating die work to seat bullets for a 22-243ai? Would you have to use a 22 cal seating steam? The seating stems are interchangeable in the Redding competition seating does correct.

Have your gun smith ream a Wilson die blank with the chamber reamer for seating duties, or you could send off fired brass to Whidden....

It depends on the bullet. Loading light pills might require a dedicated .22cal stem. With heavies, I have no problem with standard .243AI Comp Seater die...

Give the Hornady .22 caliber seat die a try - it is generic in that it will seat all .224 bullets and a pointy bullet or what Hornady calls a Amax seater stem/plug is available. I have found Hornady seat die parts are interchangeable within die bodies. The Hornady .22 seat die has very close tolerances within a sliding collar that guides the bullet into a floating seat stem and I have observed very little or no run out.
