.291If someone is using new Lapua brass in their 6.5 Creedmoor, I would appreciate it if you could take a measurement across the neck and report the loaded diameter of the neck. Thanks in advance for responses.
I just measured the neck thickness on a new lot of 100 pieces with a tube mic. a few at 13.5 to 14 thousandths and a few at 14 to 14.5 thousandths. Most at 14 thousandths. This is without neck turning. I neck turned that last lot down to 13.5 thousands. That required a .287 bushing. This time I will use a .288 bushing with no neck turning. My sizing/expanding mandrel will be .2627 to .2630. Hope this helps! Thanks again, Guys. It's nice to get different measurements because not many of us have high $$ mics. Now we can order a custom honed die. I'm thinking .289"
dittoMeasured 10, .291-.292, most .2915. None under .291 and none over .292
