UPDATE*** Full house scheduled to vote on this act tomorrow Dec 6-- Im sending an email to my representative tonite urging him to vote yes on this.

Well despite the ongoing Tax Bill fiasco and the Flynn situation the house judiciary committee has passed HR 38 the concealed carry reciprocity act and the full house is supposed to vote on this next week. Sounds like it will get sent to the senate where it would need some democratic support but there are a number of democrats who may well support it. So we are as close as weve ever been to getting nationwide CC reciprocity. letting our representatives know you support this the first of next week would help.

Senate Version is S446

Since both senators from Washington State are quite liberal Demonrats it may well be a waste of time and effort, but do you have the bill numbers so that I can contact them?

This seems to be a problem with some gun owners. Since they think it's a lost cause they don't even try. I was always bright up that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. We need to start being the squeaky wheel instead of whining amongst ourselves.

Make your voice heard! Whether they listen or not you still have a voice.

If Comifornia ever gets on board with this -- I'll paint myself pink and march in the Doo Dah parade. jd:rolleyes:

I would like to see that. Where is the Doo Dah parade held that you speak of. There use to be one held in Shreveport La. in the spring.

understood-- There can be enough votes for it to pass without CA votes from its congressman and if it becomes law it is federal so CA will have to comply

CA complying!, How about New Jersey or New York or Maryland. In those states getting a
concealed carry permit means you are politically WELL connected, wealtlhy, and have some dirt

Bullsnot!! Unless you are speaking of NYC.
Counties outside of the city have been giving record breaking numbers of concealed carry permits.

on the police chief.
Maybe the thing to do is to get a permit in a more friendly state and voila, it's legal in your state.

We'll still have to comply with individual state and city restrictions. Knowing the restrictions would prove to be a nightmare.

that is true but at least any state permit is good in any other state. I think the biggest challenge will be getting enough democratic votes in the senate. there are a number of democratic senators that are from progun areas that i hope will vote for it.

Not quite.

I have a non-resident card from Florida since 2004, not honored in Illinois.

Having moved from Illinois to Wisconsin late in 2013, that Florida card enabled me to obtain a Wisconsin card very quickly yet that's not honored in Illinois either at this point.

One can explore which state's permits are honored in other states here. The reason for this website is the same as why this bill is so important.

(I can't vouch for that website's accuracy or if it's up to date either so don't rely on it as a defense should you require one.)

ive been around the country and had permits in a number of states so i knew all states are not reciprocal- i meant if this is passed into law any permit would be good in another state- thats the reason for this bill

Right. I may have mis-read your post, but you’re correct: this bill has to be passed before a federal law supercedes all the various state ones.
