A2200 loads for 55 and 58 grain bullets

Has anyone tried A2200 for the lighter varmint bullets. The Western Load guide shows it with the 60 grain Berger, with very good velocity. I figured I would start at 30 grains and work up to around 32.5 grains. FYI 1-12 twist. Sorry 6mmBR

Would this be for a .223, .22-250, or ? I have 24 lbs of this powder and will be doing load testing with it next spring.

My lot of AA2200 is actually from the lots listed as DATA and is at least 15 years old. In .223 it is superb with 50, 52 and 55 grain bullets in both accuracy and velocities. I have no experience with the newer lots.

I also had a bunch of the older 2200 and used most up in 223's with 50 TNT's,about 23.5 grains shot great. It is the go to powder on 20 Vartarg and when I ran out of the old stuff, I needed to drop a 1/2 grain off my loads with the newer batch. I tried to make it work in quite a few other cartridges and no go.

Please tell us what Cartridge you are referring to... 32.5 gr of AA-2200 in the 223rem with 60gr bullets will not be a good idea. At least according to Western Powders Load data. More like 22.4'ish grains being max in the 223rem.

Western doesn't list AA-2200 for the 22-250 but Quickload predicts 32 gr to be MAX (61,000 psi) with 55gr V-max

I don't know how I forgot to list the round, 6br. On the Western powder load data it looks like it has the highest velocities for the lighter pills. I had 2 lbs., and I picked up another 8lb jug for $122 a couple weeks ago. I bought it for the .221 and .17H, but if accurate, it looks good for the 6BR.

I have loaded over 16 pounds of the old 2200 Data powder with 55 gr bullets in the 223 and it works very well. I tried it in 7.62x39 but could not get the accuracy I wanted with it. Actually I think the old 2200 DATA was actually made to be loaded in 7.62x39. I have never used the new 2200.
