Deal on RCBS Chargemaster at Cabelas - $199.99 after rebate

Thought I'd pass this along. I picked up a Chargemaster on Friday from Cabelas. List price was $299.99 but RCBS has a $100 rebate on purchases of $299.99 and above . Put the price at $199.99 along with a 5% discount for those of us who are vets and I'm in it tax an all for under $200. That's dispenser and scale.

This is my first electronic dispenser. I played with it all weekend and man... wish I had picked one up a long time ago.

Anyway... thought I'd pass this along to anyone who might want to hop on on this deal.

Here's the link...

Thank you for the heads up. I've been thinking about buying one of those for 2 years. Now I can think about buying something else.

I just bought one 2 weeks ago but the manager at my local Cabela's price matched Amazon and let me use my $20 coupon, managed $198 out the door. BTW I don't know how I lived with out it!

I just picked one of these up. I didn't realize how much of a steal it is at $199. I did the straw trick and the software hack. The unit is working great. Wish I'd have bought one of these sooner. Hopefully it will last for awhile.

My guess is RCBS will have a new, improved version on the market after Christmas.
They already have the new "lite version" out. It's suppose to have some of the issues fixed that the 1500 had. I use the straw trick but the reprogramming made no difference to me??

They have the combo priced at 349. Which is the rock chucker reloading kit and the charge master. That’s a smoking deal. It’s a mail in rebate which may be either a cabelas card or RCBS credit. Not t sure.

Well, I just received an email from RCBS stating that they could not process my rebate because (and I quote) "Your submission did not include an eligible UPC barcode".

I submitted the rebate through their online rebate processing site so I'm bewildered by this. I can't recall with absolute certainty but I'm pretty sure I had to type in the UPC into a form online. I do know with certainty that I submitted an image of the receipt, which I still have, and the UPC on the image is perfectly clear.

They said I have until the end of December to mail (snail mail) them the UPC. I guess we'll see how that works out but this feels like an attempt to screw me out of my rebate.

I'll report back how this works out. Would be interested to see if anyone else who sent in the rebate has had similar challenges.

That's interesting. I just received an email from RCBS stating that my rebate was successfully processed.

I also did the rebate online. Like you, I had to type out the UPC bar code and also submit the actual bar code and receipt documents. I removed the bar code from the box and placed it on my scanner along with the original receipt and scanned both items together to provide a single document to RCBS.

I wonder if one of your documents was not successfully uploaded to the RCBS site or if you made a mistake when you typed the code and it didn't match the scan. I thought it was weird that I had to type in the code as well as send them a scan of the code. I would think the typing step is completely unnecessary. I double checked mine before hitting the submit button.

I think RCBS will take care of you though. If it were me, I'd snail mail it ASAP and get a tracking number so you know exactly when it gets delivered. Let us know how it works out.

Thanks for the reply, that makes me feel better! I'm going to call them on Monday too.

Did you get yours at Cabelas? That's where I got mine... not sure it matters.

I did get it at Cabelas. I bet RCBS takes care of you. Probably something simple. When I uploaded my receipt, I wondered if it actually made it through because there was no way to tell that it had been successfully uploaded. I saw my document sitting there on the screen, but they didn't have the site set up to provide the user confirmation that the upload was successful so it left me wondering.

Ok, cool! Yeah, sounds like there might have been a glitch in the online processing or something. Thanks!

Called them today and they squared it away, so I'm happy!

They did say that the $100 rebate was a mistake in the Cabela's ad. It should have been $25 but they were honoring the $100. Good on them!
