Which replacement Rem 700 firing pin spring to buy?

I have a custom action that needs a new one. It takes a standard Rem SA 700 size. First time I've needed one. Is the Wolff replacement spring the way to go? Or is it worth it to upgrade to something like the Tubb speedlock/etc? The rifle is a tactical style 6.5saum if that matters.

Thanks.

Look At The PTG spring.. Tommy Mc

Whichever one you get, get the spring removal tool!

I forget which spring I got the last time I changed one in my F-TR rifle. Something from Brownells.

Or you use a bootlace tied in a loop, or place a large coin in the cocking piece slot and place on the edge of a table. The Kleinendorst or Sinclair tool make it much easier I agree.

That would be to disassemble the bolt. The spring would still have to be removed and assembled with something like this

Yes, I wasn't talking about dissembling the bolt, done that many times with a boot lace (I have one with no notch for a the dime). But that firing pin spring replacement is a whole other bugger if you don't have a tool

Darn was this thing hard to find. Search under "mainspring removal tool" not firing pin spring.

And go with factory poundage. The heavy ones throw to much vibration into em! I made my own tools to remove it, and remember, IT IS DIRECTIONAL! Measure the small end and put it back the same direction!
