Very slightly less capacity and headspaces at the neck shoulder junction for more consistent fire forming without having to jam or neck up and down for a false shoulder. Seems to have a very slight accuracy advantage and has set a few new records lately

Would not Accurate LT-32 be something to consider with 103 to 105 grain bullets in the 6BRA? According to the Accurate website, LT-32 was formulated to emulate the shooting characteristics of the mil surplus 8208 that has been used successfully for years in 6PPC with lighter bullets. My understanding is that 8208 produces higher MV than IMR 8208 XBR so the LT-32 may be an option. When my new barrel gets here, thinking of fire forming my 6BRA cases with approximately 30 grains of LT-32 and Berger 105 target VLD's seated 0.005 inch into the lands since I have a decent supply of LT-32 on hand. Has anyone else given LT-32 a shot?

I may be wrong, but I believe that LT-32 may be a little too fast for the 105 class bullets. Jim has had success shooting XBR in the 6 BRA with 80 grain bullets and a 12 twist. LT-32 is faster than XBR and I believe that if it were me, I would stick with H4895, Varget, Re 15, or perhaps VV N140. I shoot a 6 BRA and like you have a supply of both LT-32 and XBR, but I will be shooting Varget behind Bart's 105 Infinity at our next match. Good shooting....James

Thanks for the post James. I have a few pounds of Hodgdon H4895 on hand and certainly plan to try it and may get some Varget and Reloader 15 as well. One thing I failed to mention is that I will be using a 26 inch, 8 twist barrel in my 6BRA. Curious if anybody has tried LT-32, even for fire forming. Is 30 grains of LT-32 going to be to much for 105's from a pressure standpoint?

Sam, the lots of brass I have sure doesn't lend it's self to no-turns, plus seating force is all over the place. I kind of went to a .268 and make one pass to fire form and a second after fire forming to get the lumps out. It sure does shoot small...lol....... Jim

Jim, are you turning to the same thickness both times? I would assume so. What clearance are you turning to? I'm going to start with .0018 to .002

Terry, yes it is the same, brass moves around a lot when first formed and yes I shoot for .002 clearance. Jim

do you think the 6 bra would do well at the 200 and 300 yard line to beat a 6 mm ppc in any of the br shoots ?from what I have read in ps by t j Jackson and mike walker that is the way to go.most of what I have read is from the late 80s.

It will do fine if you have a good barrel, Barrel quality is the main factor on any caliber..... Jim

I am curious to know if anyone has experienced longer barrel life with the Ackley vs. dasher. I am assuming throat erosion would be much less with the longer neck. I am considering the change if the barrel life is a good deal better and i don't have to chase the lands as much. Thanks.

Ive got 380 rnds on mine and it’s moved a thou or two at most.

[ I tried H4350 again today in the Dasher, used a 12" drop tube. 36.3 still had vertical and was under 3000 in two different barrels. I think I’m getting close but what a pain…… Jim

I second the question about barrel life. Does it do better then a Dasher?

Larry back then it was a 28" and I was using 103 Spencers

It likes something a bit lighter in the 29.0 to 29.5 gn range. Using 105 hybrids, jammed 5. 31.1 gn in a formed case is my match load with 103 VTs.

Sorry, got away from using my Lab-Radar. Sucker either works great or is a PITA. Do not know speed at 31.1. Mr. Mousel or Mr. Wheeler would know. I think in the mid 2900s

I have been just tuning for vertical lately. Do not care what speed they are going, if they shoot a tight vertical group.
