Another mass shooting. This time in Vegas.

There's been another mass shooting, this time at an outdoor country-western concert in Vegas. Live video sounded like a machine gun. Probably an AR fitted with a slide-fire stock and large capacity magazines.

Yeah, I though it sounded kinda' slow too. Some kind of slide fire, bump fire sounds like a good guess. I also thought one of the recorded bursts sounded like a lot more than 30 rounds; perhaps a drum magazine. Did anyone else notice that?

I'm amused at the various talking heads on the MSM talking about "clips" who claim to be military experts.

When things like this happen my thoughts always drift back to the good old days when I was much younger and we went about our lives as children just enjoying our day.
Everyone had feelings for God and Country,but now I have to wonder what the H$$L is wrong with people and the world as a whole.

I have to reiterate your last sentence; amusement might not be the right word, but these clowns that have to insert themselves as some sort of expert, (mis)-using jargon, as though it's part of their daily lexicon, yet clearly making asses of themselves.

My first thoughts about this are that it is somewhat reminiscent of the 'Texas tower' shooting...if I recall correctly, an autopsy of the shooter revealed a brain tumor.

...thoughts from the darker side, What if this had been multiple trained shooters, in multiple bldgs.

Now we must endure those who will stand on the bodies of the victims advancing political agendas.

If this was a legal NFA item that did this I believe it would be historic, as the first to ever be used in a violent crime like this.

Another in a long line of sad days. Waiting for details, but if it goes the way I am pre-disposed to thinking it will, we have no poitcial will to do what it would take to stop it.

The news is reporting that the shooter (deceased) was 64 years old. He grew up in a time when he should have learned better. The guy that shot up the Republican Congressman practicing for a baseball game was also in his sixties. Hard to believe one could've spent their formative years in the early 50's and end up with this type of hatred of innocent people. Why is our society now cranking out mass murders that are senior citizens? Hopelessness maybe? Very sad day for our Nation. Prayers for strength for us all - especially for the families of the lost and wounded.

For whatever reason, or motivation, one video I watched was a few seconds long, but looped in such a way to appear much longer.
It does appear to be some sustained burst of several dozen rounds. From a purely analytical perspective, the casualties could have been much worse.

I was only stating that Nevada is an NFA State not that the firearm was legal for him or registered, I'm hoping it's either stolen or home made.

Law Enforcement has reported 10 rifles were found in the hotel room.

Shooter had 10 rifles with him; from what they're saying it sounds as though a lot of planning went into this. He'd been at the hotel since the 28th. Room was on the 32 floor with a perfect view of the concert.
