Recommended powder scale for 1,000 yard loads ?

What powder scale is recommended for handloading thousand yard F-class loads ?

Not looking for an automatic system to connect with a Dillon.

Just a scale to weigh individual charges.

I just got the A&D FX120i that everyones going to say to get, about 3 weeks ago. Then I got the auto trickler that hooks up to it.

Only used it twice so far, but I can already say its worth every penny and very precise. It is weight to the kernel of powder i beleive as it stops about a kernal short of my target weight, then I drop a kernal in and its dead nuts on target weight.

I just got a calibrated weight in, havent calibrated it yet, but next powder charging session I will. Even uncalibrated it was dropping my correct load charge last go around..

What Tod said. 10-10
Just switched from an old 10/10 to a FX and trickler combo and now can't wait to load ammo.
I dreaded weighing powder with the 10/10.
With the 10/10 my old eyes were straining to watch the pointer as it approached the target weight, and slow, it would take an hour to load 50 rounds.
The FX, you set it and it does all the work, with more consistent charge weights, in less time and less neck and eye strain.
Last I checked the FX was selling for $500.00, lowest price I've seen in several years.
Worth every penny.

i use a scott parker tuned balance beam. 150-250 $ depending on what you want. measures to a kernel and is extremely repeatable. he is on here under the name " sparker ". just my 2 cents and good luck :)

I sometimes use a magnifying glass and an additional light. I can usually throw 100 powder charges and seat the bullets in just under an hour.

The FX-102i/autotrickler combo is fast, but the real benefit is it takes a big chunk of the work out of reloading. Loading 60 rounds is easy because the duo can basically keep up with you as you take the power out of the scale, put another pan in, go drop the last batch into the case, put a bullet on top, come back and the next charge is already ready....

Who would not want a helper that is so fast and accurate???? Who????

I put my 10/10 in storage the day after I got the FX.

Always good to keep a backup handy... but even if you've worked out a method that moves along at a decent pace with a manual trickler, the AutoTrickler is just so much less tedious, less mind-numbing... and I haven't even unboxed my AutoThrower yet to add to the mix! ;)

It really does not matter how fast you are. The difference is you don't have to do the work at all with the FX-120i/autotrickler combo. I cannot think of one reason why anyone would want to work that hard when you don't have to.....

I used my CM to load 400 creedmoor and a 100 223 last night and I wanted to bang my head against the wall...the bad part my 120 and all of Adams stuff is set up but my certified weight hasn't got here yet. That thing in short is pure awesomeness

i rate the gem pro 250,supprised they have not been mentioned.any reason ?

Well IMHO, a Gen Pro 250 is no where near as good or reliable as an AD FX120...not even close. Bought a brand new 250 about 8 months ago and have never seen so many problems with an electronic scale. Hell my RCBS electronic scales had been far more reliable and workable than that 250 and I sold it a week later. SO there's no comparing a Gempro 25 to an FX120. My Tanita also works far better than that 250 but the AD FX120 beats them all in stability, quality and reliability. Sorry to bad mouth your unit but you asked so I answered.
