First timer - UBR match Saturday

My club is holding a UBR style ( not sanctioned ) match Saturday. I'm playing hooky from the shop and scrambling to get ready. Gonna go with the 6BR instead of the PPC so I can ensure my tune stays there. 90 degrees and 90% humidity. Mirage will suck but I'm excited to be in a competition.
Wish me luck.

Good luck with your UBR match. After directing UBR matches in Middle TN for 7 years I know that most shooters enjoy the format and you will have folks wanting to do it again.
Also, keep in mind that the UBR Nationals will be held in Buck Creek KY (near Somerset) the 15th & 16th of September. No membership is required and all shooters are welcome. If I can help you or your club in any way, please let me know.

Good luck Reb. Where is the match? Spectators allowed?

Catawba Valley Wildlife Club. The match was set up by the club president to generate some club interest in BR. It's just 12 or 15 guys shooting. Not sure if the gates will be open or not. We are hoping maybe this becomes a regular event.

Keep me posted. Not that far away and me and a couple other guys have been looking for a BR type match ever since Catawba Valley stopped having theirs.
Good luck!

I shot my first UBR match a few weeks ago at Rocky Road Rifle Range in Jonesville Virginia. I was hooked from the very first shot. Great people and the format is comfortable for first timers. I hope you enjoy your match as much as i did mine.

Great match, a bit of a learning curve for us but it went fairly smooth. Learned a lot and that is of great value. Conditions of course got worse as the day progressed but my last group for score was .646 at 200 yards. Not great but good considering wind and mirage. Remember - I do this for fun not prestige and money.

Nice shooting. Just started myself this year shooting F-TR Class at 500 yards. Shot 4 matches for this season. The club is open for the match and one practice a month other times the 500 yard range is closed and the other ranges are available to members only.

A lot of fun and a real learning experience.
