6x47L AI

Would like to hear Pro's and Con's on this version of this cartidge, if anyone has one or has any information on it.
your thoughts and advise are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

I don't have any experience with the 6x47 as of yet but I have seen one. The case looked pretty well improved from the start, there can't be much to gain from improving it. I would say if you wanted more capacity move up to the 6mm Creed.

It's called the Long Dasher. Here's an old bulletin about it.http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2007/06/more-long-dasher-info-6-65x47-lapua-improved/

I've been shooting a more improved version that pushes the shoulder up and shortens it to Dasher length for a bit more capacity. It's very similar to the 6 Vortex.

There's a nice node with 110's and DTAC's around 3080-3100. I suspect the Long Dasher will get there just fine. Barrel life with the version I shoot is around 1500 rounds of F Class and steel shooting abuse. I've used RL17 and H4350 but RL16 ended up being my go to. It holds excellent vertical at 1K.

For that velocity and bullet, wouldn't the 6XC be less trouble?

Thanks for the replie's and keep them coming.
I do have two 6x47Ls and was wondering if I ackley improved it, would it take some of the inconsistency out of it?
and thanks SWD i did read the old thread on here, but it was so old I was hoping some new information might be out about this round.

My pops (his forum name is ARW) has shot it for the past two years for groundhogs and its done well but he is trying out a 22-250 AI now. He has some stuff for it if interested (dies and barrel). We have another friend that has shot it for a few years with good results but these are varmint guns so I can't attest to how it does in BR.

I had two first and last one never got it to shoot. Worked 6 months trying .
Cut the chamber and made it a Dasher.
It wasn't the barrel . Larry

I have two, one single shot and one on a hunting rifle. They shoot great for me as well as my br. The down side is getting them to feed well without an aics style mag.

Thanks for all of the input yall,
I have two of the regular 6x47Ls and they both shoot better than I can shoot thats for sure. and yes they were picky in trying to tune them.
I read on here somewhere that by going with the ackley version some had found it to be not as picky on a tune.
I dont know why that would be? but I am going to give it a try in a hunting rifle..
again thanks for all of the input and keep it coming..

Just so you know, it can be temperamental to feed. One of mine feeds well and the other does not. I like the aics magazine it will feed anything.
