Hell, I live eight miles from Newport and did not hear of this 'incident'. Surely must have been a call from a Kalifornia import (of which I am one - I moved here to get away from idiocy just like this). Can not imagine how the local officers kept a straight face on this call.

When there's nothing else to do, just make up news. The last time I watched the weather channel was at a relatives house under duress. They had a special report about global warming with all the spooky make believe science that supposedly supports it. Trouble is none of it fits. I suppose it's what you do when you are on the air 24-7 with nothing much to do but dream up stupid chit to put in for filler just to waste some time.

Oh, I saw on the news that a lady drove into a flooded area and had to be rescued. Once rescued she remembered her keys were still in the vehicle so she tried walking back to it only to be swept a way and had to be rescued again. Yeah folks are dumb. I am glad I retired from public service. I don't miss it at all. Driving fast yes but thats about it.
