F Class and SEB joystick use

What is the general consensus for holding joystick or not while firing? F Open with SEB Mini. Thanks

Have been holding, but concerned I may be inducing movement(mainly windage). Thinking about bag under hand for better support. With long stock kinda reaching out there.

Good point, haven't thought about that in along time, maybe too long. Ten fingers alot to keep up with.

I adjust the rest so that my joystick hand rests firmly on the bench and I take my hand off the SEB joystick knob while shooting. I try to eliminate all variables in my control. In my case I believe this practice has tighten up my groups.

I found both methods work well myself - on the NEO / MAX / Joypod / Mini, or on the old SEB with proper counterweight.
It's more of preference thing and habit, imo?

Having glossed over the OP's reference to the MINI specifically, I should modify my response.

With my JoyPod I do not hold the joystick on recoil, but on the MINI I DO hold the joystick while breaking the shot.

With the Joypod moving with recoil, I personally think that it would induce small, hard-to-be-consistent movements that would depend upon rifle tracking, grip, etc,etc when touching the joystick vs no contact. I tested this when I got the JoyPod 3 years ago and quite honestly never looked back.

Since I shoot about 99% FTR, I guess I missed the MINI reference. Sorry about that, Drew
