S&W rebate: How long does it take?

The $75 rebate offer pushed me over the edge and I purchased an M&P Shield. I submitted the rebate online a few weeks ago and received email confirmation from Smith. Just wondering who else participated in this rebate and how long did the check take to arrive.

I believe that it said on the rebate form could take 6 to 8 weeks. Not positive though. I'm like you, with the pistol being on sale at Cabela's, a $75.00 mfg. rebate, and another 20 bucks for signing up for Cabela's card. I bought the Performance model. Think I'm going to really like it.

They sent me a note sayin it would be a bit...un-specific, but a few more weeks. That was two weeks ago. I sent it early June. I expect August for mine

Bought mine in May or early June, got my confirmation within a week, then a letter saying "sometime" and it has been 6 weeks more...still nothing

Submitted mine end of May, received it in the middle of August. So 10-11 weeks.

Been 3 months for me and no word. Tried to submit a form questionnaire on their website, but of course, it won't go through. Tells me that I must enter a telephone #. I tried both land line and cell to no avail. Sure wish these companies would just sell at their lowest price they can to stay in business and skip the rebates. They are a PITA to the consumer and certainly must cost the manufacture a significant sum of money to implement.

Update: No Update.

According to the questionnaire form, they have no record of my rebate submission. Calling S&W results in my entire lunch hour being spent on hold (2X so far). I'm becoming frustrated and now question whether this rebate will ever arrive.

It was very easy for me; I never purchased another S&W after the year they started using that ugly key.

I agree, just lower the price. They probably count on a number of buyers not sending them in. But, they have to process the rebates and send checks out, that has to cost them.
I sent a rebate in for a Remington and got it back within 3 weeks..

I bought the shield 40 and got my rebate seems like around 8 weeks.

The Brit that kissed Clinton's ass is long gone an American has run the company for along time. This doesn't mean they will honor their rebate obligation. I am sure this is why they do rebates, I bet most companies don't ever pay half of them. I am still waiting for my jacket from Bushnell from 12 years ago, Leupold promised me they would send something (I can't remember what) and never did.
