The best 30 caliber bullet for 1000yd br at present

What is the best brand an weight of a competitive 30 caliber bullet for 1000yd br at the present non custom made off the shelf.

What cartridge and barrel twist?

Will be from 155 to 240 grains. The best ones will shoot under 2/3 MOA at 1000 with the right muzzle velocity and twist combination. 2/3 MOA is as good as they get for all groups over the lives of the barrels. Some groups will be under 1/3 MOA.

The Berger 200-20X looks good. I haven't got to try them yet but will soon.

200 grain / 1.508"-1.510" length / BC= G7-.328 G1-.640

Few things more "compelling",than a "bunch of guys".

Laughing!

That bullet is simply a hammer.

Hint.
These guys shoot the best groups and aggregates of all long range shooters. 1/2 is MOA IS simply not good enough anymore unless conditions are bad. I never saw that small of group from that bullet shot at 1000. Show me a picture of a 10 shot group at 1000 with that bullet. A few years back the 6.5 140 grain A max was shooting good till they changed them. Now that wouldn't be small enough. Matt

I always get a kick out of these questions. You never know how your barrel will like a bullet until you shoot them.

Unless a "bunch of guys" "tell" you.

Laughing!

WHO T F is this guy?

Busherler....until you can produce any evedence that you know ANYTHING about ANYTHING, your mocking people is fruitless. If Dkhunt14 or Dmoran mock you, trust me, you have been mocked by the best.

But then again....those two, and a "bunch of other guys" don't USUALLY roll that way. Not until out little antenni sense a bullshit artist lurking among us!!

Now, if I am wrong, and you are actually a long range Tony Boyer, then I will be at the top of the list to bow in aw!

You can list your achievements by order of importance or chronologically...what ever floats your boat.

Rifleman3 is a 600 and 1000 yard shooter. Has pretty much the same equipment they All do. The Berger 210 VLD is pretty much the bullet that's winning. Will it shoot good in a 9 twist? Most use 10 and 11 twists. If you can't get it to win, you pretty much need a new barrel. Matt

Back to the OP...although I don't compete anymore, I am still a HUGE Berger fan. I still use the 210 VLD in my old 300 WBY hunting rifle (built in 1998 by Spencer...now switch BBL rig with an EDGE tube), but I gravitated over to the hybrid (200, 215, and 230) bullets for 600/1000/"F" class at the end of my comp years in my 300 WBY and 300 WSM tubes. I still shoot them at steal out to a mile. LOVE THEM!!

Good luck,
Tod
