source for 22 cast bullets

6mm are tough to find as well..I only go as small as .257 with cast slugs..The molds are out there..Good luck, because it is a big project doing the whole deal...mike in ct

Some boutique makers have them; Beartooth bullets for example. Just Google .224 cast and you'll get a nice list.

Fitting cast to the throat is probably first on the list.Try to leave the body .001-2 thousandths over. Then define your pressure/velocity requirements, which "should" guide your alloy spec.Lube on 22's can then be held to a minimum....I'm right at not even using any.Only lubing the small space just above gas check....

Running at 2600 fps out of a 14 twist 22-250 sporter, getting 3/4" 5 shot groups @100.These are being run up through the magazine,as fast as I can work the bolt, regain site picture, fire, repeat.About all the skinny barrel can go before heating up.

4198,and 4895 both work well in the 250 and 223 for bolt actions.Good luck with buying cast.Might try getting on some CB forums and request a purchase.Fast twists are going to limit the velocity, but you can still get sub moa.

The only place that you will find cast bullets that shoot well is to cast them yourself. You will have to forget everything you know about jacketed bullets as it will not apply to cast. Most of the magazines and what you hear is all bull.

I would add that if you are not already experienced in loading and shooting cast, which can be difficult enough, you are going down an even more difficult road starting with 22 caliber.

Just my opinion, and worth exactly what it cost you. Good luck.
