Challenge to all of the innovators, tinkerers, and inventive types

Now that is slick. I take it that the trickler is controlled by the scale, with the help of an auxiliary processor? Your time per charge is really fast. Well done!
In my original post, I was attempting to solicit ideas for ways to dispense in the pan of a tuned balance scale. For an electronic scale, the simple solution is a deep cup, but for the balance that would be more difficult to implement.

Not exactly - the external controller drivers the trickler, thrower, displays, keypad, sounder etc, and communicates with the balance (unfortunately balances don't come with trickler control capabilities!).

Thanks! Well, it is in 'Fast' mode (tolerance +0.06 grain, disp time ~5 secs, cyclic ~10 secs). The more accurate modes slow it down, e.g. tolerance +0.02 grain, disp time 10 to 12 secs. Still, it's a lot faster than when I started back in 2011. There's still room for improvement!

Ah, sorry. The video from MFRshooter mislead me. There's more to it than just the deep cup though. The convex bottom of the Red Bull can seems to be important to absorb impact, as does directing the flow against the side of the pot. I also looked long and hard at the video from MFRshooter and nearly gave up on the RCBS solution, but help from others who were using it kept me going. It's still not perfect, but I've been using it extensively for quite a lot of work for quite a few years now.

The Lee dippers are very easy to trim to size so I have a number to pour into the pan depending on what I am loading. I have a cup of powder in front of the scale to dip and pour from. Fast and accurate. Cheers

My solution uses:
  • RCBS Powder System Combo
  • Milk bottle top
  • Gas pipe
  • Red Bull can
Works great.

Do you have somewhere I can read about getting started making this kind of stuff? I know a little about a lot of it, but have no idea where to get started with Arduinos and such.

I own a company that does high quality 3D printing. We could easily do something like this with some measurements and sketches!

Yes, that's my video. It took a lot of work to get this to work with all powder types. I still use the prototype transfer device for all my loading. I never went through with the patent, because of the cost. I would like to see what others come up with.

I would be interested in one if you made them. I'm sure many other people would too. Great design. I know its more expensive but I would buy an aluminum version over a plastic.
