Ideas on 7rem mag loads 180gr

Is there any powder that might significantly improve on 4831 with the Berger 180 hybrid. Barrel is 27.5" long if it matters. I just tried Rl26 in my 243 and now I've got to rethink some things in all my calibers. Thanks much

Anything slower might. I have used 7828, H1000, retumbo, and currently some rl 25, they may or may not have better speed or and accuracy

Good luck

a great place would be 67.0g of Retumbo with a fed 215 to start, work up to 68.5, expect to hit pay dirt, shoot three shot groups.

Seat bullets .020 off the lands to start, then start playing with in towards the lands, then backing off if you don't find a sweet spot.

R#25 would be my second choice and it loves a Win mag primer.

You will get speed with the first two, then try H1000, but it will be slower.

I would suggest that you completely work through one powder before you go to another, if you don't, you will be like a yard dog that has been sniffing laughing gas.

my go-to load for 7mm mag is 67grs h-1000 with 180gr bergers 10off cci mag primers. I load for a lot different rifles and they have all liked that load! if they think they need alittle more speed my go-to load is 70grs retumbo.

I've had the same experience with 7mag. I'm running a 28" Criterion. 66-67 grains of H-1000 were in the 3s and 4s.
