Fantastic Day at the range.

Got up today, car was pre-loaded. Headed out to the range. 30 minutes later I pulled through the gate, backed into the parking and started unloading my gear. Spotting scope on the bench, rest on the bench, rear bag on the bench. Rifle uncased and on the rest. Hearing protection refreshed with batteries and on the bench and Ummmm no ammo? WTF? Everything above but backwards and went home. BUT I am the RSO on Friday AM and the bullets are in the car already. Will try again. Getting older suks so much sometimes.

Hey, it happens ...
I had a great day at the range on Tuesday. I competed in the small bore silhouette and came away the winner! Met and got to talk to a bunch of people and had a good time.

been there done that. once I jumped into my truck to go deer hunting , thank goodness I realized when I was at the end of my street, I left the rifle inside by the front door.

Bolt for the rifle left at home. Discovered after everything was set up at the range. Made a check sheet but the trick is checking it before I leave!

Yep been there and done that. I have forgot my ammo or my rest on more than one occasion. Heck, I even remembered everything but the bolt one time. Had the rifle on the bench giving it a good cleaning. Loaded some rounds while I waited on the foaming bore cleaner to work, swabbed the bore, packed everything up headed to the range 30 min away, got everything a set up and squared away then couldn't find the bolt. Left the bolt sitting at home on the bench, what a dummy.

Left my rifle behind the kitchen door once...and once had a guy in front of me in town accelarate away from a red light, in his tailgate-down F150, depositing a Rem 700 VS 22-250 in its case on the pavement in front of me. For a brief moment i thought "manna from heaven" till that same God prodded my conscience and I took it to the local PD...where a guy ran in the door all red-faced panting and crying "I lost my rifle on the street..."

Stuff happens

Last week I did the same exact thing...just different;). I had everything ready and was setting up on the bench for a round of 300yd testing but forgot my front rest at home 1hr away....grrrrrr.

List of things I've forgotten on various occasions:
Ammo
Pistol (I try to practice once in a while) Remembered the ammo!
Bolt
Targets
Rests
Spotting scope
Rear bag
Staple gun
Gate Chip card

Getting old sucks rocks!

I have done this too. Had everything packed. Both rifles and it was all unloaded then realized I had forgotten ammo for the BR.

And I am young too.

Put the dasher in the truck with the ammo. Getting everything rounded up, bags, wind flags & all
else needed at the range. Then double check everything! Get to the range, targets on the backstop.
Went to grab the bullets,,, plastic case says 22-250. :( Luckily i live about 8 miles from the range.

Yup did that many years ago with my boys, we all though the other put ammo in the truck for the varmint rigs, drove 80 miles to go shoot ground rats and no ammo for the centerfire rigs. We did have a 500 pack of 22lr under the seat and ended up just shooting the 22s, but no real varmints flying with hits by a 22lr.
We still remember that time.

I picked up a pipe wrench off the street that I watched swing off the hook on a work truck I was following on a city street. Like a "Good Samaritan" I wanted to return it to the man soo.. I caught up and held it out my driver window for him to recognize his lost tool. He sped up but I stayed with him determined to return it before it was lost. This turned into a race as each time I caught up he thought I was threatening him. Lol The poor man started running stop signs and driving like mad to get away so I quit chasing him for fear of a accident. Lmao

At least now I know I am not the only one. Tuesday the wife and I went to the range(45 minutes) so I could verify a 300yd. zero for a match this Sunday. WTH, no front rest! The rest was sitting on the floor right inside the basement door when we got home.
