260 Rem 130gr Norma Diamond Line

So, I'm looking into lightening up my 260 load and trying to run something in the 123-130gr bullet range. I see there are plenty of options, but I like to try things that the crowd isn't using. I know Berger makes a fine bullet, but I'd like to try out the Norma Diamond Line 130gr. Has anyone on here had a chance to run these from a 260 or other 6.5? I'd like to get them up around 2800fps from my 22in savage 1-8 twist. I'm thinking RL17, H4350, maybe IMR 4064? Thanks

I know Prime Ammunition is using the Norma 130 Golden Target for their loads in 6.5 caliber, and has been lauded as some of the best factory stuff available, FWIW

130gr Norma Diamonds work very well in my .260, H4350 and R17 did well for me-2800fps+ should be easy. I am tempted to retry them with RL26 or Rl23...that would put the 130's nearer to 3200fps?

Thanks, I've been wondering about the RL26 but I'm not sure how well it would do in my 22" barrel. I run a suppressor so I actually look for loads with lower overall pressure. Right now I'm using the 143gr ELD-X and H4831sc, but I get a lot of compression to get to mag length. This is why I'm looking at a lighter bullet with good BC to make up for some of the weight. I run the ELD at about 2700fps, so if I can get the 130gr up to 2850 or so I think I'll be cooking with fire.

I'm running them in my 22" 6.5 Creedmoor between 2800 and 2900 with Re-16. I am pleased with the performance especially considering the shorter barrel. These are being used in a DBM with the seating at 2.900" OAL which gives me a tiny bit of maneuvering space with feeding. I'm also testing them in the newer 6.5 PRC from a DMB in both a 22" barrel (3000 fps) and 26" barrel (3150 fps). Of the two, I like the Creedmoor so far for the performance but I like the bigger case capacity for a longer barrel with the PRC. This goes along with my standard 6.5 GAP 4-S and the 6.5 WSM using the same bullet just stouter loads in a 26" barrel over Re-25.

Regards.

I'm running the 130 gr Norma Golden Target bullets (same bullet, no coating) in my 6.5x47 Lapua with a 22" barrel. They were a tad more finicky during load development compared to the Berger 130 AR Hybrids. In the end I found a good load with 41.6 gr H4350 and CCI 450 primers. 2.650" COL. Velocity is 2858 fps. Using a G7 BC of .2894 (slightly higher than the 130 AR Hybrid) and it is matching my drops out to 1200 yards (furthest I've tested).

Nice, heck Kurz, if you're getting that from a 22" creedmoor, I should be able to do 2900-3000 with the right powder out of my 260. I think I put a box of 500 on order. thanks guys

I'm using the Golden Target in .260 and at 2900 fps, it's a real tackdriver and it's used for both long range and field taget ( a hunting related discipline, here in Denmark ).
To all luck, the Golden Target is pretty much a standard shelf ware, around here and to a reasonable price, too.
I found that, the load was easy to work up and the bullet is quite tolerant to a relativily long jump for the lands ( 1,2 mm ) without affecting accuracy. It holds 0,6 moa, on 300 meters.

You should get over 2900 with Re17, or IMR4350, based on my experience with the 129 Interlock in my .260. I get just over 3000 with Re17 out of a 24-inch barrel and just under that with IMR4350.
