New stock Review

Was looking for a stock for a recent build. I have used about every stock you can imagine on customers builds for years but this one was gonna be mine. It's been a long time since I built a rifle 100% for myself. Found a new company from Auburn Alabama by the name of Konohawk Stocks. I read their info on their site and made a few calls. I talked with a gent by the name of Rick and he was more than helpful, so much that I placed an order. The turnaround time is 3-6 weeks not months like so many others and they call you with updates on the progress!! While I waited I called stiller for a TAC 30 action and purchased a SS Kreiger 6mm 1-8.5 twist 4 groove Sendero contour from a forum member. I also grabbed a Jewell trigger from another forum member. Ordered a SS brake from Harrells. Stayed late in the shop after hours one night and threaded, chambered, installed brake, crowned, polished etc. Well... a few hours later out comes a slick little 6x47 Lapua no turn neck barreled action just longing for a stock and bottom metal. Right on the nose 3 weeks to the day UPS delivers The Konohawk stock. First impression was very good, the feel was superb the finish was very pleasing visually. Pillar bedding was spot on! Grabbed the barreled action and Konohawk supplied bottom metal (PTG Stealth) They installed like LEGOS....click and that was that! Tightened the screws to around 55inch lbs and installed a 6-24x50 SIII Sightron and headed to the bench! Tried loads from 36-40gr in .5gr increments with CCI BR2 primers and 105gr Hornady HPBT Match just touching the lands. Holy cow!!! Every load shot bugholes at 200 yds the best 5 shot group picture is included!! Forgot to measure but will soon! The stock was a dream the fit was excellent and their process really puts the weight where it needs to be! Very pleased with every component of this build and it even likes magpul magazines(you cant even feel the cartridge leave the mag as you stroke the bolt)!!! Highly recommend Konohawk stocks and have already had 3 customers order one for themselves!!! Come by I will let you shoot it! Gat

Got any pictures of the inlet? I'd probably back off the action bolts 12X.

I normally start at 40lbs and go up in 5lb increments but it just did not feel good to me till I hit 55. After shooting it I ain't changin' nothin'!! Sorry no pics of the inlet but they might on their website. Gat

What are they getting for this stocks? Looks really nice!

They start at $590 and go up from there! I am super impressed with their quality and customer service! Have sold several already to customers that come in my shop!

Nice looking stock and review. I just saw that Konohawk is having a special. I like having the Tikka option.
