What 5 shot average group size would generally be needed to be in the top 5 shooters in a 5 target match with 15-20 shooters?

The winning average over 8 matches at Mifflin Co. groundhog shoots was 1.606 @ 500 yards. We payout for smallest group at 500 yds so we keep track of that.
1.6" avg at 500 yds is better than me for sure. I have great appreciation for shooters that can perform at that level.

Went to the Mifflin County Groundhog Shoot website, great info on the 500 yd scores on numerous shoots. No need to invest in a trophy case just yet

I'm sorry, originally I took the largest and smallest of the 500 yd winning groups, added them and divided by 2. When I added all the scores and divided by 8 our average small group is 1.7505.
Everybody is invited to come to a match and have a good time. Our matches are pretty laid back. The same goes for our Long Range Bench Rest Steel Shoots.
