Yeah, I've got a one gallon Wesson Oil can of the stuff. jdThanks fellas for the great info. I used to buy the surplus 4831 in the 70s for 1.00/pound. The guy sold it in Pepsi bottles.

Will a 22-250 shoot anything other than H380?
That is still my go to powder. I have some classic loads that are still my #1 go-to for accuracy. Have tried some others, but not that beat the old #1.....
Same here for the Shilen. All I have ever shot out of it is H380. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The only thing you need to watch for is loading it too hot in the summer. It is not as temp sensitive as I would like. Otherwise ,it is a great powder for many different cartridges. My 22-250 used to thrive on IMR4320 behind a 52 grain Sierra HPBT until I shot it out and re-barreled with a Shilen barrel and then not so much. It prefers H-380 now. It just works great!

Ok ill try it ThanksYou really should consider CFE 223. Hodgdon lists it tops for velocity behind 40, 50, 52, and 55-gr bullets, and only Superformance beats it behind 60 to 70-gr.! It's establishing a reputation for excellent accuracy and, in standard 22-250 with its preferred lighter bullets, the copper suppression property comes very handy.
