Same here, my most accurate barrels have been 4 groove Kriegers. Takes a bit longer to clean than a 5R. My 5R's are not bad at all but seemed to be more sensitive to seating depth / took me longer to get loads for them.Virtually every one of my most accurate barrels I have had, have been Krieger 4 groove "conventional" rifled barrels. That is MY personal experience. However, having said that, I have friends who I know are EXCELLENT shots that have very successfully used "5R" barrels from the custom barrel makers. We all tend to lean towards what has worked for us. I have had 2 .260A.I.'s (and a 3rd on the way) that have been from Krieger with 4 groove conventional barrels. They have been the MOST accurate barrels I have ever shot>>period! So, for me, why would I change? I won't. Does that mean that 5R barrels do not shoot? Heck no, they have and they do! As for me, I will stay with what works BEST for me..
On the other side of the coin. What are the opinions of the Krieger SS 308 5R barrels. Are they better or worse then the 4 groove barrels?

About the only thing I can say about different barrels has nothing to do with the rifling type...lightweight contours walk less if they are single point cut rifled.
msinc, the above is what caught my eye, in your post. Care to comment further? It seems to excuse what preceeds.
More likely to cause reamer chatter when chambering. Otherwise I haven't seen any difference on target. What are the opinions of the Krieger SS 308 5R barrels. Are they better or worse then the 4 groove barrels?
