ADL to BDL

I have a McMillan stock for a SA Rem.

At the present time it is a pillar bedded ADL.

I assume it could be milled out to receive the BDL floor plate, etc. I would like to use a H-S detachable magazine.

My concern is: Will the gel coat chip in the milling process? It is a swirl pattern.
