My Tin Can shooter

That's quite the tin can shooter, Butch. As usual, another beautiful wood/blued rifle.

I'm curious also, what caliber?

Very nice rifle. Very nice rifle.

The Remington scopes were available to the public, though. First a 20 and a year later in 24 power. Again, iirc, they were offered for three years. Retail on a new 40X was $285 at one time, and the 20X scope was $315, iirc.
I owned an early 40X (SN:0017) roll marked 244 Remington with a 1:10" twist that Mike built in the Custom Shop. It had a 24X on it. Dan Lilja traded me out of it many years ago.

Rich, I had 3 of the return to battery Remington scopes. They were similar to a Unertl, but mounted to the receiver rather than the barrel. Only 3 of the internal adjustable scopes were made, except I also have the prototype. Both of these came from the estate of Mike Walker. Jim Carmichel picked them up for me. If you question this, it can be verified by Joe Ruth in Florida, he has the other 2, Jim Stekl, formally of the Custom Shop and Father of the XP100, and Jeff Abberagg. You can contact Jim also. Jeff, if you remember wrote the articles in Precision Shooting about these scopes. I'm sure you have old copies.
