wrench for stiller action?

Hi,

Will a wrench for a Rem 700 action for installing and removing barrel, work on a Stiller action, or does it need a special wrench?

As long as the action is a 700 footprint action yes.

Maybe, maybe not. Remington footprint doesn't guarantee the raceway is the same. I just went down this road with a Pierce. The Remington action wrench would not fit. Had to take .035 off the radius portion.

I use the Rem 700 wrench from PTG, works fine on Stiller Tac30. Has the little cutouts for the anti-bind rails etc. Havent checked it on a Stiller, but I think the Defiance wrench might be a bit nicer.

Easiest way to determine if it will fit is to check the diameter of the lugs and the diameter of the wrench. I'd want at least .005 to .010 clearance.

Are you swapping barrels to shoot different cartridges or replacing worn barrels?
