Berger 7mm EH 175 gr

Anyone try the new Berger 7mm 175 grain Elite Hunter bullets? Did you have positive results, thinking of trying them.

I'm showing good signs with the 175 eldx so far. I would have tried the burgers but my local shop didn't have them or the 180s...

I haven't tried them. The 195s have a .100 higher bc though. They are devastating on game as well. Got a elk at 1150 yards last fall with a 28 nosler. Didn't go more than a couple steps. Plug the 195 into a ballistic calculator going 3100+ fps and you have some serious long range hunting capabilities. The fact that it will shoot in the .2s or better in a lighter weight hunting rifle makes it an unbeatable combo.

I'm happy with a 140 doing 2,800 and shooting 1/2 moa LOL !

175gr Berger could be a decent F-class option.

Ya its the most accurate magnum Ive seen. Its about as picky as a 6br to load for, lol. The nodes are extremely wide. Ive built around sixty 28 noslers this year alone and every customer has sent me groups in the .1s and .2s with a handful in the .0s moa wise. This coming year Ill more than likely double my production of 28 noslers as I will be making them for other ffl's as well. The new 2600 sq ft shop and cnc equipment is the only way I will be able to keep up with demand and still keep it a 1 man shop.

What kind of luck have you had with the 195's at closer ranges at those high speeds?? My experience with them on game has not been good at under 700 yards were there velocity is still high. Exploding under the hide and not getting any penetration. Even deer had to be shot twice with good hits!!Friend shot a cow at 1100 yards that dropped on a high shoulder shot and found some bullet. Guessed it was down to 1700 fps so it worked a little better. I think the jackets are TOO fragile. I'm scared to hunt with them anymore. Don't like tracking wounded animals. Best shooting bullet I have seen in my 7 Saums out to 2000 yards, but will probably go back to the 180 vlds for hunting. They don't shoot as good but we have shot a lot of elk with them at long range and got better results. Have a 7 mag shooting 168 vlds that has shot 8 elk and deer in the last 2 seasons, and all were one shot kills from 500 to 940 yards, so I'm a little disappointed so far with the 195.

Customers and I haven't had any of those issues at the closer ranges. Shoot them in the shoulder and they go down. They do leave a pretty big exit hole. 500 yard antelope exit hole was a little bigger than a baseball. One of my customers smoked a bear on camera at a relatively close range of 300 yards and it dropped dead in its tracks and rolled down the hill a little bit. Hes pushing his nosler at 3200 fps. They also shot a beautiful ram on video at 350 resting on a ledge and it didn't move when hit. His brother smoked a 233" mule deer at 750 yards also along with several other big game animals this fall. It just folds them all on the spot.

I just bought a 5.5 Krieger 8.5 twist to be chambered in 284 win to try this bullet and 175 hornaday. I am also interested in how they perform.
