IMG_2594.JPG I have a 40xbr and the bolt face is between a 223 and 308 size. I miked it at .444" across the bolt face. Is this a PPC bolt face? I called Remington and all they could tell me was year of manufacturing bc it is so old.

Thanks,

-T

pretty gun there JD. Love rhose old XBR
Why thanks. That rifle is the reason I joined this forum. I had to step up my reloading game a bit with this tight neck 22BR. I'd never really done much with anything but the standard "off the shelf" chambers. It took me awhile around here to find even a couple of guys who knew what the BR cartridges were.

I'm not nearly done messing with this one. I haven't shot more than about two groups over an inch with it, but I also haven't shot any under .34". I've got more tricks to try, including the bullets that you sent me so long ago. Hope I don't burn the barrel up on squirrels before I get it shooting the way I want. jd

I'm surprised at that all of the ones i have seen and owned where bright.
I have a few that way. mine were circa 70's production.
