Gabe brought his Claunch barreled 6 BR 40 degree shoulder cartridge to the Dasher Dome International test facility last weekend. He arrived on Saturday late evening and we went to tour
the Dome and Rocky Top ranges and on to a restaurant. Sunday morning we attented my early men's church and then on to the Dome by 10 a.m.
The 6 BR TAC, Tim Claunch calls it "Shawty" is basically not blown out for more powder capacity,
maybe one grain more, but for the most part just puts a 40 degree shoulder on the 6 BR.
The beauty of this is it still head-spaces on the chamber. No false shoulder of jamming bullets required. Fireforming at it's simplest.
Gabe also brought a Borden Action 6 Dasher and a stainless 700 221 Fireball. He started with the Dasher and dialed it up 16 moa and took his first shot at 800 yards. Maybe a foot low, he dialed it in and his second shot hit the two inch bull.

After returning from Pizza Hut we were joined by Shayne, John Kruzan and Junebug.
Now I am going to fast forward to late evening when conditions were almost perfect as far as wind and mirage. A shower of rain cooled it down some and the mirage cleared.
Gabe asked me to try the "SHAWTY". I sat down behind the Stiller action with Leupold 45 X competition scope and lined her up on the 800 yard plate. First shot clanged the metal plate and made a small black spot. Second shot did not change the size of the black spot. I told the guys that the two shots were touching. Third shot enlarged the black spot slightly floating maybe an inch high. Great 800 yard group.
Now to the 800 yard EGG. The EGG is recessed behind the plate so that shrapnel can not get the egg.
After the 3 shot sighter group I dialed in the Leupy. Six shots late the EGG vaporized.
We went up to measure the group and it was slightly more than 1.5 inches, Gabe called it 1 & 5/8 in.
3 shots 800 yards
6BR 40 "SHAWTY"

1 & 5/8 inch

Gabe took his turn with the 6 BR TAC 40 and in short order scored his 800 yd EGG

Gabes Dasher shot very well. Junebug gave it a workout. Bug and Shayne both broke a 800 yd egg with the Gabe's Dasher. Bug (show-off) scored two eggs. He may have got one of his eggs with his 6 Dasher Zebra rifle. Sorry, but I can't remember what action it is built on. He shoots Vapor Trail bullets and this is the rifle he scored the 800 yard quarter with last year also with Vapor Trails.
Junebug (two), Shayne, Gabe, and myself all hit 800 eggs. I believe that was a record for one day.
Another first time shooter at the Dome, Lee Pettross, PRS shooter, arrived late and brought his 6.5 Creedmore. He got also scored an EGG with the Creedmore. It had a suppressor on it and it was so quiet I took off my muffs.
Stuffed in between all this 800 yard stuff, we had a 238 yard egg rack that I hung a dozen eggs at a time on. This rack was cleaned very quickly multiple times by the Dashers and BR 40.
