Need Help Assembling B-78

then next day used the welding wire to thread main springs, then carefully removed wire and forced guide rod into spring. This connected to trigger pivot point, careful as McL. said to check rear of trigger housing. Hammer already in place, but raised. placed hammer pivot pin in and worked the spring capture into hammer pivot one at a time, not breathing. Pic is pressing in hammer-breech pin.1.jpg Hard part is done. Time 1 hour not counting study time. Took me longer to get that @#$% extractor aligned with pointed & polished slave pin...nearly 4 hrs.

Following McL book, the hammer was pushed with main lever, then raised carefully to expose pin holes hammer-breech. Would I do this again.......Trigger 2#. Forgot to put new trigger housing pin. old one buggered up. final.jpg

I was seriously involved in Schuetzen for a number of years. I went the smart route, and had Dean Miller build me a rifle.
One of the two best gunsmiths I have ever known, Steve Fotou from the SLC area (then) took one of the early ones and built a very competitive rifle. He ended up figuring a way to fit double set triggers to it. That was the only one that I ever shot with a good trigger.

I have 2 of these things, 1-22-250 & 1-45-70. Figure if I sell both I can buy a Pedersoli. Cant for the life of me see how Fotou got set trigger in that receiver. It has 2-sears, a trigger sear AND a hammer sear. the thing is "lawyered" up. Really pathetic as stated above. Appreciate your comment. Not sure if I could achieve the hammer installation successfully again.
